We believe the land: sun, air, water, and soil is the foundation of flavor.

Sonoma county hop growing heritage

Sonoma County was once a great hop growing region before political and economic changes led to a move to the valleys of Oregon and Washington. The sandy loam soil here and unique west county climate are still excellent for growing hops.

Growing on a hillside

A large part of the movement to grow hops in the pacific northwest valleys was the flat lands ideal for mechanized farming methods. Our gently sloping hillside requires farming by hand, but provides southwest facing sun exposure, long daylight hours, minimal soil compaction, natural drainage, and minimal auto-shading.

Handcrafted labor

Non-mechanized building and farming methods ensure minimal environmental impact, erosion, soil compaction, and runoff.
