Hop Growers Alliance Proposes Partnership with Slow Food Russian River

The NorCal Hop Growers Alliance recently proposed a partnership with Slow Food Russian River at the SFRR end of the year wrap up party in Sebastopol. Warm Spring Wind Farm has been working with the Slow Food Apple Core this year to promote Gravenstein apples and help with the community apple press project. http://www.slowfoodrr.org/

The Russian River chapter of Slow Food was interested in the cultivation of "wild" heritage hops that were found by Paul Hawley of Fogbelt Brewing Company, as well as the potential for community involvement and education projects regarding hop farming and local ingredient sourcing for craft beer.

We hope to continue to work with Slow Food and begin a partnership to foster the rebirth of hop growing in Sonoma County.
